The Mitsubishi lineup isn’t that expansive, with only five different models making up the brand’s offerings. While the Eclipse Cross might have the most name recognition, it’s actually the youngest vehicle on the lineup. It was only just introduced for the 2018 model year as the brand’s entry into the popular compact crossover segment. If it’s so new, why does it have the most name recognition? The Mitsubishi Eclipse is one of the automaker’s most iconic cars, so they reintroduced the nameplate to help establish the vibe of the Eclipse Cross. We certainly think it works and are stoked to be able to provide the 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse right here in Hayward, California.
As such a young vehicle, drastic changes and redesigns aren’t quite necessary in the Eclipse Cross just yet. However, there were a few enhancements and updates for the new 2023 model year. The biggest change for 2023 was the standardization of the Super All-Wheel Control AWD system. In addition to that, LED headlights and fog lights are now standard, certain trim levels now include more refined front and side trim pieces on the exterior, and a new design has been introduced on the 18” alloy wheels.
There’s only one powertrain available in the 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, a 1.5L turbocharged engine that’s capable of generating 152 horsepower alongside 184 pound-feet of torque. While that might not seem like a very impressive output, it’s more than enough to deliver a fun, enjoyable experience each time you slide behind the wheel of your new Eclipse Cross. That’s only enhanced by the aforementioned S-AWC system, as well as other performance features like the continuously variable transmission system.
For 2023, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross will be available in four different trim levels. The base Eclipse Cross will be the ES trim level, which includes the most basic specs and features, though is still an impressive model to consider. Enhancing its value with more and more great content, you move up to LE, then SE and finally SEL. The SE trim level can be further enhanced with an optional package called the Panorama Package, while the SEL trim can truly maximize the model’s value with the Touring Package.
