Both the Outlander and Outlander PHEV are getting the 40th Anniversary treatment, outfitted with premium features and exclusive details. Mitsubishi made its debut in Japan in the early 1900s, remaining a means of luxury transportation for several decades. The special edition Outlander immediately stands out with its exclusive black exterior with bronze roof and special edition badging. A power panoramic moonroof illuminates the semi-aniline leather appointed seating, showing off the high-tech interior and sleek features. There’s a 9-inch navigation touchscreen, heads-up display, and driver information display to add convenience with advanced safety to aid in the drive. All in all, the 40th Anniversary Edition Outlander is made to show off all that Mitsubishi is capable of – like the 2.5L 4-Cylinder Engine with rally-ready Super All-Wheel Control.

While it may share many of the same features and styling of the Outlander, the PHEV has one major difference. Along with Super All-Wheel Control and a 2.4L MIVEC engine, the PHEV is built with twin electric motors to give hybrid power to the Outlander name. It makes a powerful yet efficient combination, allowing for a 420-mile range with three drive modes. Drivers can choose EV mode for 100% electric driving, or switch between Series Hybrid or Parallel Hybrid Modes for combined performance. The PHEV is the past, present, and future of Mitsubishi, representing a celebration of their commitment to electrification in luxury and style.
