Super All-Wheel Control Drive Modes
S-AWC drive modes help you adapt to the road conditions. The 2023 Outlander PHEV has one more drive mode than previous years, making a total of seven options to customize your ride. Use the Drive Mode Selector to change it up to suit the circumstances.

PHEV Drive Modes
The plug-in hybrid powertrain also features its own drive modes that make use of the electric motors and internal combustion engine in different ways. These drive modes are made to change how you power the Outlander PHEV depending on where you’re heading.
EV Mode
With EV Mode, you can travel a short distance on emission-free power thanks to the twin electric motors. EV Mode uses 100% electric power from the lithium-ion battery to get you where you’re headed without using any fuel! When you’ve used all the battery power, your PHEV will automatically switch to another drive mode to recharge the battery.
Series Hybrid Mode
Series Hybrid Mode comes in handy when you’re traveling on a hilly rode and need a little extra oomph. The gas generator sends power to the twin electric motors, delivering the extra torque you need to climb uphill.
Parallel Hybrid Mode
On a long road trip or weekend adventure? Switch on Parallel Hybrid Mode to make use of both the 2.4L engine and twin electric motors at the same time. All the extra energy goes straight to the battery to take you further on hybrid power.
You can go even further with the EV Mode Selector Switch. Easily switch between Normal, EV Priority, Save, and Charge to get the most out of your PHEV.
