First, do your research to determine the type of vehicle you’re looking for, your budget, and other must-have features that you can’t live without. Explore your financing options and consider seeking pre-approval. Bring your driver’s license and proof of insurance – without them, you’ll only be able to look. 

Once you have one or more vehicles in mind, it’s finally time to hit the lot. Even if you choose to purchase online, a test drive is an essential step in helping you find the right vehicle. Whether new or used, you’ll want to give the vehicle a thorough inspection.

• You can start by making a checklist of what you’d like to check, as well as those features you can’t live without. It’s easy to forget the small things while you’re driving and having a list planned in advance helps you stay on track.
